watercolor landscapes & elk

woke up early enough to see the sunrise today which was so so pink and bright it was amazing. got ready for the day and headed out to get my friend and go register for school. i'm a junior now. scary. almost every year i take pretty horrible pictures for the yearbook/  id but today was a different story. i look decent! my schedule is perf. def made me a little less nervous for the school year to stART IN LIKE A WEEK. seriously, where did the summer go??

after registration me & the momther went to target and sprouts to kill time before i turned in my VERY last assignment for pe! i'm finally done with pe omg. tried a passion fruit for the first time today. dragon fruit & passion fruit are very yummy together

had some brown rice for lunch and then put together a lil care package for my sis. she goes to the community college so she doesn't get to receive packages or anything cause she's still at home so i thought it'd be cool to giver her a little something for the school year.

cleaned my very messy room that was covered with paint and pencils from trying to finish the summer art assignment but it's finally done. i feel like i get more done when my rooms clean.

ALSO my new playlist that i made on 8tracks is halfway to being gold! it's more indie-folk songs & they're really relaxing so check it out!

bee & skull drawings

i'm doing ap studio art this year and we have a summer assignment to pick an object and draw it four different times w/ different mediums and stuff like that. honestly, it took my like 5 weeks to even start this project & i'm having a hard time figuring out what i really want to do.

i don't even know if i'm doing it right, like, i'm not sure if i'm supposed to actually have a real object that i can hold and stuff or if i just need to choose a theme and do that with different interpretations.

i think i'm also going to choose a succulent and try to do that in a more realistic way and see if i like that better.

also, i'm trying to do more art thats original. i always use references and include every little detail and make them identical but i'm trying to get away from that. i'm trying man i'm really trying.

my theme i was going with (just in case the teacher asked why i chose to draw these) is the problem with bees and how they're endangered. if bees go extinct, humans pretty much do too. so, if you ever see a bee thats having a hard time or looks thirsty make sure to give them a little bit of sugar water and if they're in your house make sure you get them outside. plant bee friendly plants. be a bee friend.


supplies i used for the first picture was graphite and colored pencils & for the second i used watercolor and colored pencils for fine detailing.

zentangle for beginners

zentangle is a simple and fun way to either create a masterpiece or even just relax. here, i'll show you a couple tutorials and examples. the top picture is a mandala i created by starting with the flower in the middle and adding on to it.

doing zentangle or making a mandala are both great ways to relieve stress, calm down, and distract yourself. not only does it do that, but you're also making something beautiful.

this is a very easy way to create texture and add a quick design. it can be the main focus or it could be used to fill up empty spots. just choose a spot and draw three parallel lines. keep adding on until you like it. you can always change the number of lines, the colors, and the space between them.

if you prefer to use a ruler to get more exact lines and spacing then go ahead! art is about expressing yourself. do whatever you want man. this one is mainly triangles overlapping each other and filling in the inner triangle.

 for this one you create a square grid and fill in an inner square on every other line. for the lines that don't have any design in them you cut them in half and then add some lines in one side on the triangle

the main idea of zentangle is to have a repetition happen. you can choose one shape and stick with that, or make your own pattern.

go crazy with it! do every design you can think of and put it all together in one picture. color it! paint it! maybe even put some glitter on it! the possibilities are endless

some pens i use are the pigma microns in 01, 03, and 05. they don't bleed, even when you put watercolor over them and they're great for detailing.

   - graphite pencils (HB, 4B, 6B, 9B)

   - white gel pen for the whiskers

   - blending stick

   - Faber-Castell eraser stick for small highlights and details

   - blender/burnisher

 ah hello again i am back. hows everyone been. are you well rested? are you staying hydrated? thats great to hear. was running out of some of that crayolyay watercolor so i splurged and got a nice palette from the dollar tree (fancy i know) so far it's looking pretty promising

should probs kinda explain what kinds of things are going to be posted on here. mainly art i guess. maybe even some makeup or nail tutorials. who knows, i might go crazy one day and post a recipe! i wanted a place to express myself and my creativity a lil more. i'm not very good at using words to fully explain what im doing or how i feel or just talking in general so maybe this will help?? practice makes perfect, right?
