lol art is stressful

the ap section of art is finally over as of this friday. and might i say, that was the most stressful couple days of my life. after finishing a portfolio of 24 pieces, photographing & editing all of them, uploading and describing them for the ap site, and mounting five pieces to mail in, it's finally over. here's some pieces. BUT IM EXCITED TO FINALLY CREATE ART THAT IS NOT GOING TO BE GRADED

recents

finally got out the camera today and took pictures of some recent work. here they are.

i've always been on the hunt for really tiny detail paint brushes that aren't flimsy so i ordered some from aliexpress & they seem pretty promising. it was like 2 dollars for three brushes, they were packaged really nicely, and they look promising so hopefully they work well. i flippin love aliexpress. i also ordered these phone lenses for the iphone camera which i'm really excited about. i've always been into photography & i want to start doing it more, whether that's with an actual camera or just with my phone.

feelin a bit drained from this week. in need of a bit of recharging so i lit a candle, turned on my fairy lights & the heater, got some music going, put my phone on do not disturb, & drinking tons of water.

i talked to my counselor earlier about doing an ROP for cosmetology sO that's going to be new and different and scary and cool.

also i want to go thrift shopping. maybe tomorrow. i want to work on my style and find new clothes that i enjoy and feel good in. a lot of my friends think it's weird to get clothes from a thrift shop and im just like ??? wat? i love thrift shopping.

enjoy. have a great weekend. be safe.

throw back to oregon!

while it was mostly hours upon hours sitting in a car, our spring break road trip to oregon was amazing.  i've never seen so much green. i've never seen so much snow. i've never seen so many waterfalls. i've never seen so many tulips. oregon was amazing and i am definitely going back.

stops at portland (for voodoo donuts and powells bookstore), crater lake (which was sadly covered with 6 feet of snow so we weren't able so see it), multnomah falls, a tulip farm, tillamook cheese factory, random waterfalls, and some trails were made. hotel breakfasts. snow flakes. nature. unforgettable memories. we don't do many vacations, especially road trips but i'm glad this one happened.

roads. *heart eyes* i flippin love long, empty roads. def no la traffic here.

this one took a while to get up too but man was it worth it. multnomah falls. almost fell in mud.

the mini fall before the huge huge huge waterfall

and a lil baby after the momma

we also went to a really cool garden trail thing and they had a kaleidoscope looking into the garden.

some roads were paved

some were not. so many different plants. so beautiful.

oh man. the tulip farm. hundreds of tulips maybe even thousands. we got some delicious kettle corn here too:)

deciding to go down a road that said there was a waterfall was worth it. it's where fairies would live. i mean, if i was a fairy i would def live here. little caves in the trees. water dripping off of leaves and making little rivers. everything so saturated and full of life.

drove down the coast on the way home stopped to see some amazing beaches

this is also where the fairies would live

documenting my first ever time seeing real life snowflakes that actually look like snowflakes. stood outside for so long taking macro shots of these bbys until my hands nearly froze off.

oregon, i miss you, but don't worry i'll be back

easy, filling, and vegan!

just a note, i am not vegan. i was for about a month until my skin got really bad. for some reason i think it changed everything in my body or something. before i had almost perfectly clear skin and now it's breaking out in places it's never broke out before! it may be a detox thing i guess, but it's been almost another month since i stopped and it's still pretty bad :( i still rarely eat meat and dairy. i stopped eating eggs and stuff like that. things like baked goods or occasionally having a hamburger happen. so as i'm not fully vegan i do eat way less animal products than i used to.

i do want to become fully vegan in the future though. preferably high carb low fat ;) i believe it's much simpler, cleaner, easier, and better on the body. what you put into your body shows on the outside. as i get older i realize more and more what i, as an individual, believe in. it makes sense that milk from a cow is meant for a baby cow. it makes sense that animals should be treated with respect ( i do understand how sometimes meat is needed, but treating an animal bad and then killing it is just a lil mean ). and it makes sense that food is energy. listen to your body, it  knows more than you. if you're hungry, eat. if you're thirsty, drink. if you want a sweet, have one. moderation is key.

alright enough ranting. let's talk about food. this took about 20 minutes to throw together. it's super easy to make enough to have leftovers. oh,and it tastes flippin amazing.

start off with some rice since that takes the longest. i used jasmine rice, which smells beautifully and tastes beautifullier.

as the rice is working it's magic start your sauce? topping? i don't really know what to call it. it just tastes real good.

oh, so you wanna know what's in it?

- one pretty large diced tomato (or you could use canned tomatoes, preferably no salt added to help with bloating and digestion)

-half a can of rinsed corn

-half a can of RINSED beans. i used a tri bean can, it has three diff types of beans duh. RINSE those BEANS. i learned the when you rinse them you get this foamy layer that comes off. THAT is an indigestible fiber that causes gas. rinse those beans and your stomach will thank you

-some tomato sauce to make it more saucy (optional)

-your choice of spices and herbs. i only used basil(my all time favorite herb in the whole world ever) you could go for a more spicy meal. or maybe ur craving pizza and you wanna throw some oregano on that baby. its your choice. experiment.

-you could also add some lettuce to further help with digestion. lettuce helps when you're eating a cooked meal.

mmm mm look at that sauce. let that simmer until your rice is ready. stir it a couple times while it's heating up and you're good to go.

mix them together. eat them separately. you do you.

alrighty, there you go! an easy, filling, vegan meal! i eat this so much. it's honestly my favorite and it's so so easy! enjoyy

forearm tattoos?!

it was a great day when i figured out acrylic paint washes off so easily with minimum staining and that my skin is literally as white as a canvas. even though it does wash off with just water it takes a little bit of scrubbing. it will stay for a couple hours before it starts to get worse but i'm wondering if putting liquid bandaid over it will make it stay longer!

body/face painting is perfect for those days when you have absolutely no idea what to do and want something that will take time but also be fun. there's so so so may different possibilities with this you can do what ever you want. you could try out tattoos you may want in the future with no commitment.

also, in just 9 days my 8tracks playlist is now gold! it was so exciting & i'm so glad i could share some of my favorite songs with others!

it's a good thing this wasn't real henna cause once i did do a henna tattoo... and then i fell asleep...on my hand....and ended up having a henna tattoo on my face.

i've recently been working on a few things like, propagating succulents, figuring out how to make the best non-oil potato chips, & art of course so hopefully those will be mentioned again someday!

enjoy the day toodaloo
